Welcome to Socio, operated by Logicircuit Private Limited ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website (https://schoolos.app) and use the Socio platform, including school admin, staff, teacher, parent, and driver portals, Tota AI chat, Autopilot workflows, and communications facilitated through the WhatsApp Business API.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information that you or your school voluntarily provide when you register, sign in, or interact with Socio. The information we collect depends on your role and how you use the platform, but may include:

  • Contact information: Name, email address, phone number, and school or organization name.
  • Account and role data: Login credentials (including WhatsApp OTP verification), user role (admin, staff, teacher, parent, driver), and school association.
  • School operational data: Student records, attendance, grades, fees, assignments, leave requests, transport routes, PTM schedules, announcements, and other data entered or processed through the platform on behalf of your school.
  • Communication data: Records of communications with us and through the platform, including WhatsApp messages, in-app notifications, email, and support requests.
  • Location data: GPS coordinates from driver mobile devices when transport tracking is enabled, used only for live bus location and route monitoring.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and usage data collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

3. How we use your information

We use your information for the following business purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Socio platform and related services.
  • To authenticate users via WhatsApp OTP and manage portal access.
  • To enable school operations: attendance, fees, assignments, transport, leave, PTM, and announcements.
  • To power Tota AI chat and Autopilot workflows under school admin supervision.
  • To respond to inquiries and offer customer support.
  • To send administrative information, service updates, and school-related notices.
  • For WhatsApp communications: To send transactional messages, OTP codes, bus alerts, leave updates, PTM reminders, and relevant service notifications via WhatsApp (subject to your explicit consent where required).

4. WhatsApp Business API and Meta compliance

We utilize the Meta WhatsApp Business Cloud API to communicate with school users. By opting in to receive WhatsApp messages from Socio, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Opt-in: We only send WhatsApp messages to users who have explicitly opted in to receive such communications from their school or from us.
  • Data processing by Meta: Messages sent via WhatsApp are processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. While WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted where applicable, Meta may process certain metadata (e.g., phone numbers, usage logs) in accordance with Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • No sale of data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your phone number or WhatsApp communication data to any third parties.
  • Opt-out: You can opt out of receiving WhatsApp messages from us at any time by replying with "STOP" to our WhatsApp business number or by contacting us directly.

5. Sharing your information

We only share information with the following categories of third parties:

  • Your school: Data you provide as a parent, teacher, driver, or staff member is accessible to authorized school administrators as required for school operations.
  • Service providers: Cloud hosting providers (e.g., Supabase, Railway), customer relationship management software, and communication platforms (e.g., Meta WhatsApp Business API) that require access to such information to perform services on our behalf.
  • Legal obligations: When required by law, subpoena, or other legal processes, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

6. Data security and retention

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures (including secure cloud architectures and encryption) designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. We retain your personal information only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, or as required by law and your school's data retention policies.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent for certain processing activities, including WhatsApp communications.
